Kestrel Park: A New Addition to Brentwood Parks

Local Backroads is excited to introduce one of the newest parks in the Brentwood park system!  Kestrel Park is so new that it has not even found it’s way on to Google maps. This means a day at the park will allow you to enjoy the newest park equipment in pristine conditions.  Located at 950 Island Palm Way in the Palmilla development, in Brentwood CA, Kestrel Park is a perfect place to enjoy a slice of your day.

How To Get To Kestrel Park

Like other parks in Brentwood, Kestrel Park is located along the Marsh Creek trail.  This means you can arrive on a bike or scooter after enjoying the trail, walk, or by vehicle if you are just out looking for a fun park for play. The park is located at the back end of the new Palmilla development – which means street parking is available, just not abundant.

So Many Amenities

Kestrel Park is a nicely sized park.  For families with small children, the footprint is small enough to allow your young children free-range without fear of losing sight of your kids.  For families with older children, the park offers enough space for running and exploring without feeling stifled.

The park features shaded play structures.  One is designed for younger, smaller children while the second one is ideal for kids who love to climb and aren’t afraid of heights.

There is also a full basketball court.  The court is in excellent condition and incredibly well-maintained.  There are even benches near enough for you to sit and be a spectator if playing hoops isn’t your thing.  No reservations are required – so, it is a first come, first-served court. No basketball equipment is provided – but the court will provide hours of fun!

Kestrel Park also offers two grills for family BBQs or afternoon picnics with family and friends.  The variety of shaded picnic tables also make this an ideal place for a birthday party or afternoon outside.

Special Touches At Kestrel Park

A special aspect of Kestrel Park is the sitting area located on the outside border of the park, parallel to the Marsh Creek trail. This beautiful sitting area has a water bottle fill station and a misting station!  On hot afternoons, nothing feels better than the refreshing mist of a mister! Even if you are out riding on the trail, this misting station will offer a reprieve from the hot day.
