As you have been out and about, exploring your local backroads, you may have seen some signage that showcased the title “Tri MyRide” – whether on signage or on the side of bold buses throughout Contra Costa County. These new buses and the Tri MyRide program is a 6 month trial of a flexible and dynamic, on-demand shuttle service that operates in neighborhoods near the Antioch BART station and the Pittsburg-Bay Point BART station.
What is Tri MyRide?
Similar to other ride-share and ‘ride-hail’ programs, this is an app-based service that allows riders to schedule curb-to-curb, customized trips. The app allows you to schedule your pick-up and destination locations, will provide estimated pick-up times, provide an alert when the bus is set to arrive and will notify passengers when they reach their final destination. For just $2.00 a ride, Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, passengers can control their transportation schedules while still utilizing our local public transportation service.
How Does It Work?
The app, named “Tri MyRide on-demand transit” is free for download on both the Apple App store and Google Play. Once you download the app, you can create a free account. Then, when you are ready for a ride, you:
- Log in to the app under your account.
- Set your pick-up location and your final destination.
- Wait for the alert that your ride is near.
- Confirm your trip.
- Board the shuttle.
- Enjoy the ride.
Tri MyRide is An Amazing Option for Personalized Transportation
Many of us have become accustomed to the simplicity and convenience of ride-share apps, such as Uber and Lyft. Tri MyRide offers the same personalized benefits with the added advantage of increased safety. Shuttle operators undergo the same background screening and training as other Tri Delta Transit operators. The shuttles are also all outfitted with surveillance cameras for additional safety. On top of the incredibly competitive cost of only $2.00 per ride, the advantages of using this ride-share app are overwhelming.
