Brentwood has a delicious new reason to eat out, and it comes sizzling, spicy, and served with a side of boba. Located at the Sand Creek Plaza, Hwan-Yeong Korean Kitchen and Boba Tea is a family-owned spot tucked in Sand Creek Plaza that’s already making waves. With bold Korean flavors, casual vibes, and seriously good drinks.

The Food

From classic bulgogi beef to kimchi fried rice and crispy mandu dumplings, every dish hits the sweet spot between comforting and crave-worthy. What’s more, portions are generous, flavors are bold, and the spice level is adjustable. So whether you prefer mild or full heat, there’s something for you. The creamy corn cheese is already a fan favorite, and the tteokbokki is a must for anyone who loves rich, spicy sauce and chewy rice cakes.

The Boba

As for drinks,  the menu includes everything from traditional milk teas to fruity refreshers and blended smoothies. Better yet, all drinks are customizable and made fresh. It’s the perfect add-on to your meal or, alternatively, a reason to swing by on its own.

The Vibe

Beyond the food and drinks, what makes Hwan-Yeong special is the atmosphere. Bright, friendly, and family-run, it feels like the kind of place built with care and made for the Brentwood community. Because of that, it’s quick enough for a casual lunch and cozy enough for dinner with friends.

Why It’s Worth a Visit

In short, local flavor meets global flair in every bite. This is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to, not only for the food, but for the heart behind it.

In the coming weeks, Hwan-Yeong will be introducing bingsu, a beloved Korean dessert that’s as fun to eat as it is refreshing. Bingsu is made with finely shaved ice (think snow, not crunch), layered with sweet toppings like fresh fruit, red bean, mochi, condensed milk, or even cookie crumbles. It’s light, customizable, and perfect for warm days or a sweet treat after a spicy meal.

If you’ve never had it before, think of it as Korea’s answer to sundae, but cooler (literally) and endlessly adaptable. Keep an eye out, this delicious dessert is coming soon!
